How To Get An Account

Applying for an AppToPay account is easy and usually takes just a few minutes.

You can apply for an AppToPay account from wherever you have access to your phone and the required information.

You do not need to visit a retailer to apply for an account, you can apply at home.

You do not need to use your credit straight away once you are approved, we offer a line of credit, like a credit card, so you can use it whenever you like.

Here is a little information so you know what to expect before, during and after the application process.

 

Before you apply.

To be eligible to apply for an AppToPay account you’ll need:

> to be a resident of the UK,

> to be at least 18 years old,

> to be employed,

> to have a good credit history,

> to have a smartphone,

> to have a UK bank account,

> and either a valid Passport or Drivers Licence.

If you don’t meet this basic criteria it’s probably best not to apply as you’ll have an unnecessary search on your credit profile and you’ll be declined.

How to Apply.

Step 1: Download the AppToPay App.
To applying for an AppToPay account is to download our app from your devices app store, click on the relevant link below or just search the AppStore or PlayStore for ‘AppToPay’.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, create an account by clicking ‘Don’t have an account? Click here to apply.’ at the bottom of the log in screen.

Step 2: Follow the steps.
We’ll ask you for some basic information like your email address, phone number and address history.

Step 3: Confirm who you are.
As we are an authorised consumer lender we have to verify all our customers identities, to do this we ask you to supply a photo of your ID as well as a selfie.

We use special software that validates that the ID is genuine and facial recognition software to verify that the ID is yours.

Step 4: Affordability Assessment.
In order for us to make a responsible lending decision we need to complete an afforability assessment on you, the easiest way for us to do this is using OpenBanking however we also offer a non-OpenBanking option.

Step 5: Sign the Credit Agreement.
Once you’ve been approved for a line of credit, you’ll be shown a few documents and asked to authorise a Direct Debit mandate before you digitially sign your personlised credit agreement.

Step 6: That’s it!
Once you’ve signed your personalised credit agreement you’re ready to hit the shops and spread the cost of purchases with AppToPay.

All you need to do is take your phone with you to any of our retailer network and make a purchase.

 

After You’ve Applied.

Every fully submitted application will be processed by our automated system and a lending decision will be reached, your application will either be approved or declined.

All applications are treated in exactly the same way and no preference is given to any particular group or segment of society.

If your application is approved, we will offer you a line of credit which you can choose to accept or decline (cancel your application).

If you choose to accept the line of credit we offer you, your credit will become available to use immediately upon you signing your personalised credit agreement.

If your application is declined, we will not offer you a line of credit and you will not be able to use AppToPay services at this time.

You can re-apply in the future but it is advised that you wait at least 3 months before making another application.

Unfortunately we do not provide feedback as to why an individual application was declined as divulging such information could make our system open to manipulation.
